A DRIVER who assaulted a teenage cyclist was fined thousands of pounds.

Christopher Nigel Jackson, 55, was said to have assaulted a youngster in an incident in Kendal on March 4. Prosecutors said he beeped at the teen in his Range Rover Evoque. The victim responded with a hand gesture.

Jackson then grabbed him by his collar and spat twice in his face.

Jackson, of Canny Hill in Newby Bridge, pleaded guilty and was fined £4,500 and told to pay £150 compensation.
