GRIZEDALE Forest has welcomed a piece of art from Yoko Ono, the Japanese-American singer, songwriter and peace activist.
The Wish Tree for Peace will be on display at the exhibition gallery until December 8.
The artwork is an interactive work which consists of living trees which are displayed along with wish tags. Visitors are able to write their personal wishes for peace and hang them on the tree’s branches.
At the end of the exhibition, all of the wishes will be collected and returned to Yoko Ono and they will continue on in connection with her Imagine Peace Tower.
The living trees will be planted out in the forest afterwards.
