A HIGH street shop which has hit the ground running and already developed a strong customer base has snapped up The Mail’s Trader of the Week award.
Expressions, based in Dalton Road, is still a new business on the high street, having only opened in March this year.
Bur in just six months the shop has established itself as a popular spot in the town centre.
Customers who come to the shop are able to choose from a vast selection of high-quality goods including beautiful silver jewellery, a great range of bags, unique ornaments and frames and much more.
They also offer ear and body piercings with an in-house piercing studio run by a team of trained piercers.
The shop is run by Stephanie Whiteway and Linda Thomas, who is originally from Millom.
The pair decided to bring their designer brand to Barrow following the success of their Lancaster store, which they have run for a number of years.
Expressions is based at 200 Dalton Road, opposite M&S, next to Coco Hair and Beauty Salon.
Angela Harrison, manager at Expressions said: “We feel privileged that somebody has nominated us for the award so early in to the business.
“We’re very thankful for everyone who comes and shops with us.
“It’s great to see people wanting to shop local and support independent businesses.”
Speaking more about how the business has been received in its opening six months, Mrs Harrison said: “It’s been fantastic.
“We’ve had a really good response from people in the area.
“We’ve had lots of repeat customers.
“We now offer loyalty cards and gift wrap everything.
“We also have the great benefit of having our own great piercing studio.
“The three members of staff are all fully trained.
“Anyone looking to get a piercing can just walk in, no appointments are needed.
“I think the town was ready for something like this.
“I think there’s been a better vibe in the town centre recently.
“It’s great to see people taking that chance and opening more independent businesses.”
