TECH giant Apple has visited Barrow in a bid to rival Google's Streetview with its own mapping system.
Apple Maps vehicles equipped ppwith LiDAR equipment have been spotted travelling around Barrow as they capture data to collect data which will be used to improve Apple Maps.
As with Google's version, which was launched back in 2007, Apple Maps will have licence plates and faces pixellated.
The vehicles made their way round Cumbria between Augst 20 and September 2. It is not known when the data will be uploaded to the mapping system.
Apple's vehicles first took to the streets in major American cities in 2015, and they have since travelled to Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and the UK.
