The roof of a stand at Barrow AFC has been ripped off in the strong winds brought by ex-hurricane Ophelia.
Barrow Police tweeted this evening to say Wilkie Road, which runs behind Holker Street Stadium, is closed.
Officers are with fire crews on the scene as they bid to assess the damage and secure the area.
The incident comes as Cumbria is battered by fierce winds.
