PATIENTS in Cumbria having to wait up to three months for mental health care has been labelled a 'tragedy'.
Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron has written to health secretary Jeremy Hunt asking for more money to be sent to the county.
A freedom of information request found young people wait 84 days on average for treatment.
Mr Farron said: "The only way that this tragedy can be improved, however, is for the Government to give our local mental health trust the resources in order to employ more mental health psychiatrists so that our young people can be seen in as a short a time as possible.”
