FORBES Dr Jamie Aged 78. Passed away peacefully at home after a long illness patiently borne, surrounded by his devoted family. Loving husband to Sandra, dad of Nichola, Rachael, Alison and Robbie, grandad to seven, retired GP formerly of School Street/ Bridgegate Surgeries. Funeral Service to be held at Beacon Hill Methodist Church at 12.15pm on Wednesday 22nd November, followed by a private committal at Thorncliffe Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations if so desired to St. Mary's Hospice and Multiple Sclerosis Society. All enquiries to George Hall & Son, 9-11 Buccleuch St, Barrow, tel. 01229 820514.

A sad loss, he was my Doctor for many years and had a great sense of humour. I saw him on one occasion when he asked me what my symptoms were, I described them to him and he said "I've had that", I asked "so what is it? I haven't a clue he said, but it cleared all by itself".
