GASKARTH Lesley (nee Alsford) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lesley on 3rd October aged 88 in Abbey View, Furness General Hospital. She was much loved and will be missed by her husband Barrow, her children Adam and Anna and her Grandchildren Ben, Jacob, Alexander, William, Ella and Sam. Lesley's funeral service will be held in Cartmel Priory at on Friday 27th October at 1pm followed by a private family interment in Cartmel cemetery after the service. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired will be shared between the Musicians Benevolent Fund UK and Cartmel Priory and can be made online via www.saundersfunerals.com or sent to Saunders & Son Funeral Directors, 24 Winfield Gardens, Allithwaite, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria, LA11 7DF. She was the best ! I met Lesley when I was eleven . She stepped off the bus with the other Windermere girls ready to climb the steep hill to Kelsick Grammar School , our first day in a school halfway up Wansfell. We were friends from the beginning. Separated for quite a number of years I was happy to meet up with her again about ten years ago in Ambleside.
To Anna and Adam and her grandchildren , she was a star . Always happy, cheerful, ready to help . You were blessed to have such a mother and grandmother. To Barrow , I am so happy she found you.
