RICHARDSON Jack (John) Aged 87, passed away peacefully at Furness General Hospital, surrounded by all his family, after a long illness bravely borne. Beloved husband of June, much loved dad of Stephen and Mark, dear father-in-law of Beverley and Elaine, dear grandad of Jonathan, Thomas, Lucy, Katie, Sophie, Abbie and Nancy, dear great-grandad, brother, uncle and friend to many. Funeral Service and Committal to be held at Thorncliffe Crematorium on Thursday 30th March at 10:45am. Family request no flowers, any donations if so desired to Parkinson UK and Urology department at Furness General Hospital. Dearest June and family, I was so very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing what a huge loss to his family, his friends and the community. Jack was my boss at the training school (known then as Vickers training school) and we all had the greatest respect for him. An incredible teacher with a great sense of humour.
I remember Jack in his younger years running mIles for charity and coaching the up and coming little rugby players. He inspired me to run and I am still running now. But my most treasured memory of Jack is the beautiful poem he wrote for my father, Hugh McGregor. I actually read it at his funeral and Jack was there frail but determined to be as his funeral. What a inspiration and a gentleman. I will never forget him. I am so sorry I cannot be there to pay my respects as I am iin Cape Town. Rest in peace Jack you will be very sadly missed by so many.
