THURSTON Robert (Bob) Passed away peacefully at Furness General Hospital on 8th November 2022, at the age of 90. Treasured father of Caroline and Sarah, husband to the late Pamela and grandad to Persephone, Alex, Darius and Chloe. Bob was previously Bar Manager at both Barrow Cricket Club and Roa Island Boat club as well as acting as timekeeper for the Sunday Yacht races at Roa Island. After his retirement from Vickers Shipbuilding, he was a keen participant in Barrow Ramblers outings and enjoyed live Jazz. The family would like to thank Twilight Years for their long-standing devoted care of Bob in his own home and the staff of Ward 7 Furness General for their wonderful care and attention during his final days. At Bob's request there will be no formal funeral, but the family will be planning a private memorial event at one of his favourite locations in the Lakes, at a later date.
