AIRD George Passed away suddenly on Sunday 13th March aged 86. Dearly loved Husband of Doreen, treasured Dad to Diane, Deborah and Sarah. Loving grandad of Charlotte, Ewan and Toby, a dear father-in-law, respected brother, uncle and friend to many. A service will take place on Friday 25th March, 1pm at Thorncliffe Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations may be sent c/o Little and Caine obituary's page for local Palliative Care Nurses (cheques made payable to Furness Cancer Nursing fund). I only met George once , he let me sit next to him in the DH Mosquito at Strathallan airfield, must have been about 1980 , nice gentleman, never knew about the iconic Photo of him and the Lightning until much later , what a man.
