Joan, Sarah, Matthew and Hannah and their families would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their beautiful flowers, cards, letters, messages of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer's Society and support given to us all over the last few years! It has been a very sad time for us all and our special thanks must go to all the wonderful staff at Gill Rise, Ulverston and Risedale at Abbey Meadow, we would never have got through it without them all.
Our special thanks go to our GP, Dr. Osman Mohammed, who always went that extra mile to get David the treatment he required, the staff at the surgery, the District Nurses Heather, Linda and Diane who looked after David so well for many years, to Professor Clarke and all the Urology team at Christie Hospital, whose care of David over the years was second to none.
Joan would especially like to thank her grand-daughters Emily and Isabel for their poems at the funeral, Pops would have been so very proud of you, to Jane for the reading in church, Matthew for reading the eulogy which captured David's life so well and Henry for taking care of Nanna after Pops became poorly. To Sarah, Paul, Matthew, Lauren, Hannah and Sam for their continuing support and unconditional love without which the last few years would have been even more difficult.
Our thanks to all the staff at the Chetwynde Hotel for the lovely buffet and for looking after us all so well! Thanks to Rev. John Hodgkinson for the uplifting and comforting funeral service and a special thank you to Gordon and all the staff at George Hall and Son for looking after David so well and their thoughtfulness and kindness to us all whilst arranging and conducting his funeral.
