Bignot - who has worked with Moore before at Solihull Moors and Grimsby Town - attended the Bluebirds training session today, and will be in the dugout alongside Moore when AFC take on Boreham Wood on Saturday.
A club statement said: "We are delighted to welcome to our backroom team to assist interim manager Micky Moore.
"Following the departure of manager Paul Cox and first team coach Ben Marvin, we are delighted to welcome Marcus Bignot to our backroom team to assist interim manager Micky Moore. Marcus attended first team training this morning and will be on the touchline with Micky on Saturday.
"Micky has been working alone since the departure of Paul and Ben and asked the club for some support ahead of our next couple of games, as we host Boreham Wood on Saturday and head to Tranmere Rovers next weekend.
"Having worked together at both Solihull Moors and Grimsby Town, Micky and Marcus know each other's styles well and can immediately focus on getting results from our next few games."
Barrow AFC managing director Andrew Casson says the club have received a number of applications for the vacant position.
Casson said a board meeting will take place – probably on Tuesday evening – when directors will begin assessing candidates.
“Applications and CVs are still coming in,” said Casson.
“The quality of them is going up in terms of more people you will have heard of and people with decent credentials.
“But in terms of where the club is in its decision-making process, we are just trying to get through this weekend and Micky has done a decent job so far.
“I think he has had a bit of bad luck in the results we have had.
“The board will meet next week to talk about the three games (that Moore has been in charge of) and how they have gone.
“We will look at what has worked, what hasn’t worked and then we’ll go from there really.
“The meeting is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday. It depends on whenever we can get the chairman (Casson’s Texas-based dad Paul) on the phone and the various directors together.
“We’ll make a decision on how things haver gone and then start looking at options.
“Like I say, applications and CVs have come in, but we haven’t really looked at any of them in detail just because we’re just trying to let the dust settle a little bit.”
