RESIDENTS are being told to be wary of rogue fish salesmen operating in the area.
Cumbria Trading Standards have issued the warning to residents in Backbarrow following reports sellers are asking homeowners to purchase large amounts of frozen fish on the doorstep.
Trading Standards say this fish is generally of poor quality, unrefrigerated and short weight and their advice is to not let uninvited doorstep sellers into your home.
Anyone who is faced with fish sellers or other cold callers should ring Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 03454 04 05 06 or visit www.adviceguide.org.uk
