Two pioneers in going the extra mile to serve a community church and the people in Ulverston have each been nominated for an upcoming award.
As part of running activities for young people in the area as well as promoting the work of Croftlands Community Church, in Ulverston, Mark and Sarah Callaghan do that little bit extra to help the people around them.
Their nominator, Elizabeth Wyborn, says that Mark is a fantastic example of how to make a church run at it's best, and that Sarah is a 'kind, trustworthy and dependable' member of the church and the community.

Mr Callaghan makes regular visits to schools to talk about God, and also runs a children's play scheme in the summer holidays, which around 60 children have joined at it's events in Croftlands and nearby Urswick.
Meanwhile, Mrs Callaghan, 48, has just as vital a role in the church's mission.
Mr Callaghan, 47, said: "Sarah and I work in the community at a number of different schools.
"As long as we are breathing and here we will continue to do what we do.
"Everything we do is voluntary, and we do it simply because we love doing it."
The two, of Trinkeld Avenue, Swarthmoor, have been jointly nominated for the Helping Hand Award 2016, which celebrates and recognises people who do the extra bit for the betterment of their community.
