MOUNTAIN rescuers came to the aid of a walker who suffered a suspected heart attack in the Lake District.
The 57-year-old woman took ill on Saturday just before noon while walking on the lakeshore path at Buttermere.
The walker complained of chest pains and 13 members of Cockermouth Mountain Rescue were called out to help her.
The Great North Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and paramedics treated the woman before she was passed over to a waiting road ambulance and taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
