A MAN who was knocked off his bike said he "could have been killed" as he appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Steve Alecock's Facebook post in which he urges anyone who witnessed the incident has been shared thousands of times.
Mr Alecock, from Carlisle, states he was cycling on the A591 just outside Ambleside at around 3pm on September 2 when the altercation happened.
He said: "I was knocked off my bike... I suffered injuries including a large haematoma on my hip, several chipped teeth, concussion and later shock, resulting in three weeks off work.
"The driver of a white Volkswagen Transporter 53 plate van got out and deliberately knocked me off."
Although one witness provided a registration number for the vehicle, police have said they cannot take the matter further unless any other witnesses come forward.
Mr Alecock added: "This was a horrible incident and had there been anything coming in the other direction I could have been killed."
Anyone who has information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
