A WARNING has gone out after a fake email scam was reported to be in circulation.
National anti-fraud organisation Action Fraud says it has received multiple reports of scammers, claiming to be from jobs sits LinkedIn, attempted to steal financial information.
Emails sent to victims claim that your LinkedIn profile has appeared in multiple searches and provide links you can click on to get more details.
These links lead to malicious websites designed to steal your personal and financial details.
Always question unsolicited requests for your personal or financial information in case it’s a scam. Never automatically click on a link in an unexpected email or text.
If you think you have received such an email do not click through to the links, and report the email as spam or junk.
If you think you may be been a victim of online fraud contact the police via 101, or ring Action Fraud 0300 1232040.
