THE sudden death of a 15-month-old girl after falling ill at a Barrow department store is being treated as a "medical episode".
On Tuesday afternoon at around 5pm police were made aware of an incident at Debenhams in Portland Walk.
A 15-month-old girl had been with her family at the store, before taking ill.
Police were later seen at Debenhams making inquiries in support of the coroner's office.
This morning Cumbria Police gave an update on their investigation.
A spokesman said: "The death of the 15-month-old child, previously being dealt with as unexplained, is now being dealt with as a medical episode and is not under police investigation.
"A file will be passed to the coroner."
