FIRE crews across the area have been out in force as firework fun got out of control.
Barrow firefighters were called to three fires across town on Saturday.
The first call came at 5.48pm when the crew received reports of a small bonfire in the open to the rear of Lord Street.
Crews soon extinguished the blaze using one hose reel jet.
The second incident took place in Winchester Street shortly after 7pm after a firework landed on a tree and set it alight. This was also extinguished using one hose reel jet.
From there, crew members raced to Chapel Street in Dalton, where a firework had landed the roof of a shed, which then went up in flames.
The owner of the shed sprung into action and had managed to put out most of the flames using a garden hose by the time Barrow and Ulverston crews arrived.
Meanwhile, Walney firefighters were just as busy tackling further fires across the area, including an open fire in Cavendish Road, a bonfire near to the allotment buildings to the rear of Longway and another open fire in Mill Lane Play Park.
