IT was a gathering like no other - with one hot topic of conversation. Pugs.
Just months after the inaugural Pugrock was held, organiser Becki Fishwick again welcomed dog lovers to show of their beloved pooches.
They arrived at the Abbey Mill Cafe in Barrow in their droves, curly tails wagging and, in some cases, sporting the latest fashion accessories.
Miss Fishwick said: "It was really good, and fantastic to have people come from all over Cumbria to attend an event that was all about pugs.
"It's an opportunity to meet and socialise in a different environment and for people to make friends.
"We had more than 50 pugs and their owners attend and managed to raise £70 for St Mary's Hospice too."
As well as getting the chance to speak to like-minded individuals, pug owners also got the opportunity to enter their dog into a show - with prizes for, among other things, best dressed male and female and best fancy dress.
Miss Fishwick said: "People travelled from as far as Whitehaven and Morecambe. The event only started as a bit for fun for me. I did it after losing my dog because I wanted to find a way to feel happy again.
"It has been really positive. People who walk their dogs alone or who thought there weren't many pug owners in the area are now making friends and planning to meet up.
"There will definitely be another one this year, maybe after the summer holidays."
