A BRIEFING event for people interested in standing as Cumbria's next police and crime commissioner in the forthcoming elections on May 5 is to be held this month.
The briefing event will be held on Monday February 22 at 6pm at Police HQ, Penrith.
The briefing event will focus on the role of the commissioner, policing in Cumbria and the budget. Also, there will be details about the election process.
Stuart Edwards, chief executive of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, said: "We are holding a briefing event so that potential candidates can receive more detailed information about the role, financial issues, the remit of the police and crime panel and the election process. There will be an opportunity to ask questions."
