POLICE have confirmed the identity of a man who was found dead in Cumbria after he went missing two days earlier.
Following the discovery of a body yesterday morning in Flatts Walk, Whitehaven, Cumbria Police have now confirmed the identity as missing Whitehaven man Matthew James Dalton.
The body was found at around 11.45am this morning in Whitehaven by a member of the public.
The body of Mr Dalton, known locally as Jimmy Dalton, was identified by his family today.
The 53-year-old's death is not being treated as suspicious. He had last been seen at about 4pm on Monday in Whitehaven town centre.
Police are preparing a file for the Coroner.
