THE Crystal Maze is coming to the North West.
Fans of the much-loved 90s game show The Crystal Maze will have a chance to try it out themselves when a new live experience arrives in Manchester next year.
The ultimate team challenge show, which was famously fronted by eccentric Rocky Horror actor Richard O'Brien, was a firm favourite with audiences during its run of 85 shows between 1990 and 1995.
Since this March a company has been offering an acclaimed live experience for teams of eight people to take part in a recreation of the show - but until now it has only been available in London.
From Spring 2017, North West fans of the famous Crystal Dome, will get to try it out for themselves, after Manchester was chosen as the next site for the attraction.
Promoters are promising that alongside the expected nostalgic elements of the show the Manchester experience will offer a "new variety of games and bigger and better zones."
Crystal Maze Live Experience founder, Tom Lionetti-Maguire said: “I can’t wait to bring the show here, and I cannot wait for people to see what we will be doing – the venue will not be a surprise to anyone, but what’s inside most certainly will!”
"I’ve often been asked if we would build another one and if so, where would it be. Where will the next Crystal Maze be? Well it could only be in Manchester!”
The original Crystal Maze Experience was set up in London after an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign raised a massive £934,000.
