A Barrow group have seen its upcoming show be the latest performance to be rescheduled after The Forum's theatre was closed.

Last month Westmorland and Furness Council confirmed that asbestos had been detected at the site with productions in the immediate aftermath of the news cancelled.

This came as a result of investigations in the backstage area of the Forum following a water leak.

Since that point, the team at The Forum have been working hard to ensure that their scheduled shows still get the chance to go ahead.

This time around, the Barrow Operatic and Dramatic Society's (BODS) production of 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie' is the latest show to be moved to the Coronation Hall in Ulverston.

It was previously slated to run between September 10 and 14 with tickets going on sale at the start of last month.

It will now run between the revised dates of Tuesday, September 3 and Saturday, September 7.

A spokesperson from BODS commented: "For anyone that has purchased tickets through the Forum, please get in touch directly with them to arrange any rescheduling or refunds.

"For tickets bought through the society, society members will be in touch.

"Please keep an eye out on our social media over the next three weeks as we countdown each day until opening night!"

Details about buying tickets for the rescheduled performances will be shared in due course.

After the presence of asbestos was confirmed, the council reassured locals that no traces had been found in air quality tests and there was no evidence to suggest that anyone had been exposed to risk.

The rest of the Forum, including the café, is unaffected and remains open and available to the public.

The Coro has been a much needed replacement on standby, hosting other performances including 'The Pop Princess Show', 'Ireland: The Show', and 'The Lady Boys of Bangkok'.
