Tom Meighan said that he was 'overwhelmed' after becoming the fastest selling gig at a venue in Barrow.

The former Kasabian star is set to perform at The Meeting Place on Tuesday, May 15 as part of his Raw '24 tour.

With tickets going up for sale in the evening of Friday, April 19, they had completely sold out by the time Saturday afternoon arrived.

Meighan took to social media to celebrate the news, commenting: "One of the aims of Raw ’24 is to support grassroots venues and visit places that don’t see enough artists in their hometowns - we take this show to the people.

"I’m overwhelmed that my Barrow-in-Furness gig at The Meeting Place has been the fastest selling show in the venue’s history."

The venue itself was quick to highlight just how big this development could be for the business, but also the local music industry in Barrow.

Talking about the 'unbelievable' response, a spokesperson said: "That was the fastest selling gig we have ever been involved with, and as some people will know we’ve been involved in live music for many years.

"Thank you for getting behind it - this bodes very well for bringing more big events to our town."

Meighan was a founding member of Kasabian along with guitarist Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, and drummer Ian Matthews, with the band releasing their eponymously titled debut album in 2004.

Since then, Meighan has earned popularity through his 'energetic and charismatic' performances, with The Meeting Place set to be the latest beneficiary of that spectacle.

Fans who were lucky enough to grab tickets in the nick of time will also have the chance to meet the music star with special meet-and-greet packages.

This is an upgrade reserved solely for people with tickets for the upcoming acoustic show in Barrow.
