THE council is carrying out urgent repairs to a small section of a road entering a Lakes village from the A591 after a sinkhole appeared.
Highways will carry out work on a section of the B5287 (Stock Lane) from a point 75 metres north west of its junction with the A591, extending in a north westerly direction for around 115 metres.
The notice was put into force on April 22, and it is expected that the works will take five days.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Drivers can use unrestricted sections of the B5287 and the A591 to access Grasmere.
