A new group in Walney is hoping it can help people further connect with the community.
Hosted by Walney Library, the friendship groups will meet every Wednesday between 10am and noon, with the first session taking place on April 17.
A spokesperson from the library said: "We have refreshments, snacks, games and crafts for anyone who'd like to come along and connect with others in their community.
"And now, building on feedback, we're hosting for longer to fit in more with people's schedules."
There is also the option to volunteer at Westmorland and Furness Libraries' two friendship groups, with the other located in Barrow.
This is part of the 'Love Barrow Libraries' project, which aims to foster further community connections.
