FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a car that was up in flames.
The incident happened just after 6.30pm on Sunday on the A590 near Ulverston.
Photographs of a silver vehicle covered in foam as part of the aftermath were published on the Ulverston Blue Light Hub Facebook page.
The post said: "At 18:38 26/11/23 Purple Watch attended a vehicle fire on Ulverston Road.
"The vehicle was well alight on arrival, so crews used 2 breathing apparatus and CAFS (foam) to extinguish the fire.
"Police assisted with closure of the road for a short period of time for safety and no persons were injured at this incident."
Cumbria police attended the incident due to the potential impact on the road network however the cause of the fire is still unknown.
