EMERGENCY services tackled a wildfire on an island in lake Windermere on Saturday afternoon.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue crewes were helped by Windermere Wardens, Lake Rangers to extinguish the blaze.
It is understood that a wild fire broke on Gale Naze Crag near Waterhead.
Windemere Cruises tweeted: "ALL LAKE USERS. Please steer clear of the Brathay/Waterhead area as there is a large fire on the lakeshore. Please take extreme caution. #Ambleside #Windermere"
The source of the ignition is not known but it comes following a number of police and fire and rescue warnings this week.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue have been warning campers and holidaymakers to be vigilant of creating barbecue or camp fires
"A lakeside fire might seem like a good idea, but it can quickly go wrong. With the warm, dry weather, wildfires are more likely to happen. Avoid open flames in rural areas. If you spot a wildfire, call 999 immediately"
