A WEDDING manager enjoyed her day in the spotlight walking down the aisle in front of her nearest and dearest.

Samantha Rowlinson, 30, a wedding manager, has married Jordan James, 32, a police officer in a beautiful Lakes district ceremony.

The pair have known one another since a young age and both worked together in their local pub.

“I loved Jordan’s sense of humour and how he always made everyone laugh!,” Sam said.

“He was so friendly and we instantly clicked.” Jordan added:

“Sam came across as such a nice person and easy to talk to. We are polar opposites, which made a great base for our relationship. She calms me down and is very loving."

The smitten couple got engaged in Portugal on the highest point of the cliffs overlooking the sea.

Sam said: “We went for a stroll after breakfast, and Jordan had already found a beautiful place to propose beforehand so took us down there.

“He got down on one knee and popped the question, it was definitely a surprise and it was even more special as it was my birthday!"

Samantha and Jordan said ‘I do’ at The Belsfield Hotel in Bowness alongside 55 guests.

The couple had originally due to wed in Cyprus in September 2021 but had to postpone to the following year due to the Covid restrictions.

They said: “We made the decision to cancel our wedding abroad and get married in our favourite place so it all worked out in the end and our day was absolutely perfect.”

The newlyweds described their day as ‘perfect from start to finish’.

They said: “We planned it all in the space of four months, and enjoyed every minute.

“As Sam runs weddings for her job, it felt so strange to be on the other side but made some of the planning slightly easier!

"We all travelled up to the Lakes the night before the wedding, and we stayed in the hotel the night before, which made getting ready in the morning so calm and relaxed.

“We got married in the beautiful restaurant at the Belsfield, surrounded by our nearest and dearest.

“After the ceremony we went straight outside for some photos, and the backdrop was Windermere which was stunning.

“After the room had been turned around, we went back into the function room for our speeches and had a delicious three course meal - with an added extra surprise of our singing waiter, Craig, which went down a storm with the guests! After the meal we had some more photos outside and we actually went down to where the boats are moored.

“We then headed back up to the hotel ready for the evening reception, where we had an entire cake of cheese accompanied by some chutneys. It was delicious!”
