A WOMAN was rushed to hospital whilst out on a walk in the Lakes.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 1.43pm on Tuesday to Wharton Tarn following reports that a woman had a medical issue.
On arrival, the mountain rescue team discovered the woman was conscious but unable to stand up.
After assessment, the woman was carried by stretcher to one of the team's Land Rovers, and later handed over to a waiting land ambulance for the onward journey to Furness General for further assessment.
