FIRE crews from two stations were called out to a large fire involving a tractor near Windermere.
Shortly after 11am yesterday (April 1) fire engines from Windermere and Kendal were mobilised to a large vehicle fire in Winster, which is situated less than two miles east of Windermere.
When the fire crews arrived they found a large fire involving a tractor that was described as being 'well alight.'
To battle the blaze firefighters were forced to use one Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet in an attempt to bring the fire under control.
They were also required to use Environmental Pads and one Compressed Air Foam system jet to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters from both stations were at the scene for approximately forty minutes.
