SEVERAL Barrow AFC first-teamers are set for a run-out in the first reserve game of the season tonight, writes GRAHAM DIXON.
Chris Thompson – who has not yet won a place on the bench for the first team this season – is among the players looking for game time.
First-team managers Dave Bayliss and Darren Sheridan have also been named tonight along with Aaran Taylor, Nick Rogan, Mike Pearson and Paul Brown.
Bayliss admitted it would be a difficult job keeping everyone in the first-team squad happy this season.
He added: “We are a bigger squad and players have to be patient but it is not easy, someone will always be disappointed.”
Centre half Steve McNulty (groin) and Paul Tait (ankle) will have fitness tests at training tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s home game with Stevenage.
AFC reserves: Taylor, Pearson, Moss, Morris, Bayliss, Sheridan, Grainey, Thompson, Doughty, Brown, Rayner, Rogan, Lancaster, Ayres, Curwen. Local players meet Holker Street at 4.30pm.
- Dalton completed an early season double over Vickerstown in the West Lancs Premier Division with a 5-2 win at Park Vale last night.
