THE Spice Girls were truly a phenomena of the late 1990s, so big that even dogs were getting dressing up as Posh, Ginger, Scary, Baby and Sporty back in the day.
Today we take a look back through the Evening Mail archives at dog shows through the years, particularly the 90s.
Five spaniels got together at Barrow and District Kennel Club show in the 90s to win the fancy dress contest by turning up as the Spice Girls.
They were Sheila Hitcham with Jadeas as Ginger Spice, Jackie Dubka with Rosie as Baby Spice, Janet Macheta with Noonie as Scary Spice, Janet Hughs with Mandy as Sporty Spice and Anna as Posh Spice.
We also have some cute as a button photos of little ones showing their pooches at local shows. They include Melanie Barker, of Barrow, who at age five won a first prize Molly at the 1993 Rusland Show. And what about young Sophie Daw who was handling an English Bull Terrier at a Barrow and District Kennel Club event back in 1990.
Have a look through the photos and see if you recognise any of the human or canine faces featured today.
