DISILLUSIONMENT with the teaching profession, coupled with homesickness for their home county, led husband and wife Richard and Angela Barker back to Cumbria - and to a new career.
The pair settled in Grasmere on returning to the north, turning their hobby of chocolate making into a fully-fledged business.
The Chocolate Cottage in Grasmere sells handmade, high quality chocolates, with the Barkers importing the best quality chocolate and using local products to create their bespoke sweet treats.
"Our family are involved in the business with us," said Mrs Barker. "We focus very much on making sure our customer service is excellent; and we have been delighted with the number of visitors who have been coming back to us since we started the business in 2013."
