BARROW AFC defender George Ray has announced he is leaving the club.
The centre-back took to his Instagram account to break the news.
He said: βAll good things come to an end Had an unbelievable 2 years at @barrowafc met some of the best people football has to offer and memories that will last forever! Thank you to all the blue bird fans for your support over the last 2 seasons up and down the country.β
The 30-year-old started his career at Crewe Alexandra making 137 appearances for the Railwaymen.
He made his Crewe first-team debut in 2013 Football League Trophy Final β becoming the first player to make their debut at Wembley.
He left Crewe in 2019 to join Tranmere Rovers, and also had spells at Exeter City and Leyton Orient (loan).
Having agreed a mutual termination with City, Ray joined the Bluebirds on June 27, 2022.
The former Wales Under-21 international made 71 appearances for Barrow, scoring three goals during his time at Holker Street.
Ray is one of 10 players released by the Bluebirds following the end of the League Two season.
